SA Training EOI
The South Australian Building and Construction Industry Security of Payment Act 2009 (the Act) commences in December 2011 and is very closely modelled on legislation currently operating in NSW, Qld, Victoria, ACT and Tasmania.
Able Adjudication is an authorised nominating authority (ANA) in NSW, ACT and QLD and is now authorised in South Australia as a nominating authority to appoint adjudicators to complete determinations under the South Australian Act.
This means we are seriously seeking expression of interest (EOI) from persons in South Australia who may wish to:
- Gain, on the ground practical knowledge in the operations of the Act for themselves, their companies, their clients or other associates;
- Become a registered adjudicator in South Australia
Initially we are seeking industry participants who wish to lodge EOI’s in the two courses we are currently offering:
- Adjudication Essentials – An intensive one-day course for legal professionals, building professionals, project managers, contract administrators, decisions makers in small to medium construction industry companies who provide advice or make decisions on company obligations regarding payment or the assessment of work under the new legislation.
- Adjudicator Training – An intensive accreditation course for potential Adjudicators under the legislation. Able Adjudication is an approved adjudicator training organisation in QLD and the course will have a structure similar to the QLD Adjudicator training requirements but tailored specifically for the SA legislation. This ensures consistency of training and successful completion may form the basis of further accreditation in other jurisdictions subject to further training. Note the successful passing of this course does not guarantee a position on any adjudicator panel but will provide the candidate with in depth knowledge on adjudicator methodology which may assist them to understand and provide advice on adjudication.
Potential courses and tentative course dates are listed below. There are class size restrictions and Able Adjudication has the sole discretion to activate or cancel a course which will be dependent on the number of EOI’s received by the EOI Due Date.
EOI’s can be made by return email to training@ableadjudication.com.au with contact details of those interested and all the course dates of interest for each person. Please ensure responses are in before the respective EOI Due Date. Activated courses will be confirmed at the latest 2 weeks prior to an Essentials course date and 4 weeks prior to the Adjudicator Training course dates.
